There is no way around it, if you want to get into the nursing field, you have to take the tests. Since this is not some sort of standardized test that anyone can just take, one has to be prepared and study hard before taking them. If you have not already decided on what you are going to major in, then start doing research on what subjects you would like to study. You could major in Medical assisting, Nursing or Certified Nursing Assistant. Once you have a good idea of what you would like to major in, look for schools that offer these courses.
Now here are some things that you need to know in advance. You will need enough hours for this course, which will vary depending on the course that you intend on taking. Some people may need two years to do an Associate’s degree while others may only need three or four. You also need to have a score that sets you apart from everyone else. Your scores will determine where you need to go next.
When it comes to finding out the exact date of your test date, it is best to do some advance preparation. The first place you can check is with your school. Every school works differently so you may not always find everything that you are looking for there. There are some colleges that do have this information on hand, though. Checking with them is a good idea since they can give you the options you need to make sure you have enough time for the test.
Another thing you should do is call your high school. They can give you information on their own schedule. Generally speaking, high school will let you know about their own testing dates. If there are not enough spaces to accommodate your desired class, then they will let you know. However, this is not always the case. Check and see if your high school even offers testing dates for the tributes.
Speaking of tributes, they have their own set of dates too. You can contact your school and find out when the tributes will be testing. This is important if you are looking forward to sending your own tributes or if you want to send someone else’s. Sometimes the test dates are just moved around for other reasons. Make sure you know why.
Lastly, you should find out when the tributes will be coming in. The test center will let you know what days you can come in and take a test. However, many of the tests take place on the weekends. Check with your school to see when they happen on the weekend that you would like to take the test. If it is a non-classical test, such as the IBT or IAS, you may have a choice to take it on a weekday instead of a Friday.
Taking the tests is an integral part of college life. You don’t want to find out too early in the game that you don’t pass the test or that you are behind in it. Keep these tips in mind and you will be headed in the right direction.
