He went on to say that he saw a pattern with the tests that were given in his classroom and the exams he gave to those taking the study courses from Amazon. Some of them didn’t do their homework. Others didn’t take the tests for granted. Then there were those who studied like crazy but never tried hard enough to succeed. He was blaming Amazon for his failure to teach the students how to properly prepare for their CNA tests. I decided not to take his words seriously, but I thought about it for a few days before I made my final decision.
If you are going to make any kind of investment for your future, it would be worth it to pay for the best possible education that you can get. And, at the same time, if you are going to invest in yourself and the education you will need, it only makes sense to take the time to learn everything you need to know to pass the CNA exam. By the time I finished reading some of the Amazon reviews, I was a bit disappointed with the low grade range that some of the exams posted. I figured that if I didn’t want to spend the money to purchase the course materials through Amazon, I might as well take an online course that would provide me with the same level of instruction without paying for a membership.
I started looking for an online course just the day before I was scheduled to take the exam. I read all of the Amazon reviews I could find and I considered the reviews written by actual students who had actually taken and passed the online course. They gave very good feedback about the material, the audio CDs, and the instructor. I made my purchase and downloaded the course and was ready to start studying immediately. Except I didn’t.
Within about three weeks I found that I was getting really behind. My time was slipping away and I knew it. But I didn’t have the time to go back and do the practice tests that were required to bring my score up. Not only that, but I failed the practical portion of the test.
I wasn’t sure what to do because my time was running out. I knew that I had gotten myself into a bad habit. It was taking too much time to study and focus on the material. I figured I would go back and do the CD-ROM part of the exam. This time I would be prepared.
I began my Amazon shopping spree the next day. I purchased two books from the CDs, Amazon provides and went back and took the simulated exam. The next day I did the same thing. But this time I got even more behind. I felt like I had gotten myself into a “you get out of it or you lose your mind” kind of situation.
I finally decided that enough was enough. I was tired of being so far behind in my studying. So, I bought the course from Amazon. It was a little more expensive than the CD Amazon provides, but in the long run, it was far superior to what I was wasting my money on in the past.
