The first option for you to consider is the traditional book-and-instructor course. These are usually the longer forms of courses and can take a long time to complete. In some cases, you will even have to wait a couple of years before you can take the test again if you would like to. They are good choices if you would like a more hands-on learning experience, but if you aren’t ready yet to be a CNA then this may not be the right choice for you. They are also good for people who don’t have a whole lot of time to devote to studying.
The second choice would be taking the CNA practice test online. Some people may not feel comfortable doing this, but if you feel that it would be easier for you to do than actually taking the course then it should be your second option. There are a number of different online testing sites that will offer these tests, and there are plenty of ways to get a good course outline to help you along. Make sure you pick a reliable site though, because you will want to be able to go back and review any questions that you missed. Even if you are confident in your readiness, some people find it better to go back and review the multiple choice section.
You could also try taking the exam through a traditional classroom-based study process. Again, this is your decision to make. You should know what you are getting yourself into before you commit yourself. If this option doesn’t work for you then you can always look into the option of doing the exam on your own. But keep in mind that you will probably spend more time practicing than you would have if you had simply taken the class.
Taking the multiple choice portion of the exam requires you to answer multiple choice questions about various teas. Once you have filled out the required fields, you will be able to see the answer choices pop up on the screen. Just click on the choices that match up to the flavors that you are looking at. It’s pretty straight forward, and if you prepare for this section in advance then you should have no problem answering them. Some people just breeze through the questions, and that’s fine too.
But some people really don’t like doing multiple choice and will end up giving up on the entire test. Don’t let yourself be one of those people! There is nothing wrong with giving up. The important thing is to learn as much as you can before the test.
It’s easy to get so engrossed in tea culture that you might not think about your choices. That’s fine. You don’t need to know everything about every team that’s out there. Just pick three or four teas that you are interested in learning more about.
Once you’ve answered the multiple choice portion of the test, then it’s just a matter of focusing on each of the three or four choices. Concentrate on each flavor and try to figure out what the meaning is. This practice will pay off big when it comes time to take the actual test. And hey, if the exam makes you nervous then remember the exam isn’t going to make you nervous; it’s going to help you become better prepared.
