I knew that I needed to prepare myself for all six of the exams, but I had no idea just how to prepare. I had already spent a large amount of time in pre-licensing courses. The problem with this is that they only covered part of the six subject areas that the licensing exam covered. So I did not know what to focus my energy on.
Once again, there were resources that I could turn to. I began reading everything I could get my hands on about preparing for the six exams. Much to my surprise, much of the information that I found was available online. I began studying for each of the six exams in a very structured manner.
I read study guides, practice books, nursing school textbooks, and I even got a few books on past exam papers. But after I started reading up on the subject, I realized that much of what I had already learned was not relevant. So I began studying for the six exams in a different way. Rather than buying books on the subject, I made every effort to learn everything I could find on the internet about nursing.
I read dozens of books. I bought a couple of college textbooks and then went to work. I studied just as hard as I did when I was studying for the NCLEX-I, and I spent a lot less time doing the practice tests that were included. Once the books dried up, I had so much more free time on my hands.
By this time, I was ready to take my final exam. I purchased yet another book on the subject and then went back and worked even harder. When I looked back at the books, I actually had more free time than I did before I bought the books! The result was that I actually passed my first official exam, then got my license in June of 2021.
Of course, it took me much longer to study and to get the exam results. But I definitely saved money by cutting the amount of time I spent studying for each exam down from months to just a couple of weeks. What’s more, the money that I saved allowed me to purchase the materials for studying for future exams much cheaper.
So is the teas 6 exam hard? I’ll say that the bookkeeping portion of studying for the exam is the hardest, but not by too much. You see, the real key to success is learning how to manage your time, and knowing what kinds of studying resources are best for you. Once you have these tools in place, then you can go about studying as hard or as easy as you like.
In my opinion, the best resource for managing study time is going to be some type of bookkeeping software, whether it is for personal or business use. If you are just starting off with your bookkeeping career, I suggest going with a bookkeeping software that does not require any type of customization. This will save you time in the long run, as your experience with the program will be less or even non-existent. However, if you already have experience with bookkeeping software, I would strongly recommend getting something customised to your specific needs.
For instance, if you are planning on doing the exams after the first two years, you will want something easy and uncomplicated to handle bookkeeping records. Most bookkeeping software systems come standard with hundreds of templates for different fields, so this should not be a problem. On the other hand, if you are looking to do the exams after the third year of your business career, then you will want to focus on more specific templates for accounting practices you are concerned with, such as income and expense, balance of cash, and so forth. Even though you may think bookkeepers are boring, they actually have some of the most fun jobs in the world because there are so many ways to approach each different type of record and problem.
If you are serious about passing the six books, I highly recommend getting a bookkeeping software system to manage all of your records. It will save you so much time, as well as make everything that much easier. Keep in mind that the best way to study for any exam is still by reading books, so if you are not doing that, then get some books on bookkeeping!
