How to Prepare For the US Teas Test

When I was preparing for my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination I found that my state had a choice of providing me with multiple choices in my testing dates. I had the option to either take my examination when I got off work, after work hours, or whenever my state office offered a CNA practice test. It turns out my state did not offer any choice in this one aspect, but my county did. They provided me with a list of exam times for each quarter and the names of the CNA courses I would need to take in order to meet minimum standards to get certified. It turns out my county’s CNA program did not offer any choice in determining my examination schedule.

The other option offered by my state testing board was to use the local hospitals and community colleges to schedule my tests. I was very disappointed with this choice. I wanted my CNA course dates to be set before my exam, not during my hospital job hours. I had to jump through a lot of hoops in order to schedule my exams; I had to contact the nursing schools I wanted to take my tests, make arrangements with the state testing site, request testing re-scheduling, submit proof of my high school graduation and passing of my state exam, and reschedule my tests if needed. If these hoops weren’t bothersome enough they were in themselves expensive.

In addition to finding inconvenient testing dates I had to pay my state licensing fee, which I believe is more than sufficient compensation for wasting my time driving to the state building and waiting in line to be placed on the state registry as a CNA. There’s more. Once my CNA exam was scheduled, it was only a matter of days before I had to take my written exam. I had to schedule a test date with the local state nursing school my first week of taking the nursing course. I had to bring my valid license from my old employer and show proof of my high school graduation.

Then there were the courses I could take at home that would help me pass my test without having to worry about finding a good class in my area. I was able to take classes such as CPR and first aid at home using instructional videos that were created by certified nurses. The videos provided information I had never been exposed to before. I was able to review key information faster and easier than if I had sat through a traditional nursing class.

I was happy to find that there are also courses I can take online. I’m not a fan of the word convenience; but when I was presented with an alternative that gave me flexibility, I was eager to give it a try. The problem I did encounter was finding an instructor in my area who taught the same courses I was taking in my traditional classroom. So I started looking online. Unfortunately I discovered the cost of taking online classes was more than the cost of taking a course in my area. However, I did see some great discounts on packages that included everything needed to pass the exam.

When you sign up for the free courses online, they will provide you with all the materials needed to pass your written examination. There are no exams to take and no one to grade them. The materials are all provided for you to study and work on. Once you have worked on all the online tests, you simply print them off and take the written exam when you’re ready.

My recommendation for anyone thinking about taking the test online is to check out the courses being offered in your state. If your area doesn’t require a certification exam, you can still earn the necessary RN license to work as a nurse. Many nurses do not go through the process because they believe they’ll be unable to pass the NCLEX-RN examination on their own.

You will be able to take the NCLEX-RN test multiple times, so you won’t have to waste time taking a practice exam and then another if you weren’t able to pass the first time around. Plus, you will be able to review any materials you weren’t able to get the first time around. When you take an online course, it’s going to give you a lot of flexibility in how much time you want to devote to studying. You can learn at your own pace. It just makes sense to me.
